Our Story

BestPetz was proudly founded in 2010 in La Lucia, Kwa-Zulu Natal, by father-and-son duo Howard and Dale Westcott. What started as a humble garage project has grown into a leading provider of pet supplies and wholesale pet accessories, offering high-quality cat and dog food, treats, and supplements.

The inspiration behind our journey came during a casual holiday moment. Dale, visiting from London, spotted a makeshift dog bowl stand in the kitchen and asked Howard about it. Howard explained, “It’s my anti-ant bowl,” and shared his frustration with existing solutions that didn’t work.

Determined to find a better alternative, Dale suggested patenting the design. To their surprise, the patent was available, and within a year, it was granted. Together, they designed, developed, and manufactured the Antbeater ECO—an anti-ant bowl that truly works while being eco-friendly.
